Rúnar Pétur Hjörleifsson was born and raised in the east fjords of Iceland, surrounded by the soaring mountains that provide a scenic backdrop to the town. On a one cold day out fishing, he realized that a lifestyle as a fisherman wouldn’t make him happy, but turning his focus towards snowboarding would.
