We got together with Ása Steinars and got insights into her favorite bathing spots in Iceland. As an Icelander, bathing in geothermal springs is a very big part of our culture. It comes from living on a volcanic island, with cold harsh weather, but plenty of natural warm water around. "To me this is what makes Iceland the best place in the world." says Ása

Get ready for summer

Lambing season is the period when sheep give birth to lambs. It takes place during the spring months and into June. Pálína has been a regular visitor to the sheep barn since she could walk.

"Lambing season is a fun, difficult and sleepless time. You have to stay awake during the night, can only go inside to eat and rest for short periods and you spend more time at the sheep barn than at home. The work never stops." says Pálína

Pálína grew up near her maternal inheritance, Eystra Geldingarholt, where her aunt and uncles operate a mixed farm, with both cows and sheep.Today, she runs the Instagram account @farmlifeiceland where she gives people a glimpse into Icelandic country life.

Pálina is featured in our latest NORÐUR journal. Learn more about her and lambing season in Iceland at
