Not the animal, but the iconic Utah mountain. It's between Brighton and Alta, buried beneath nearly 200 inches of snow.

In a true test of endurance and skill, Backcountry Gearheads Alex Quitiquit and Cam Price and local skier JM Fabrizi skied 16 lines over 10 miles, with nearly 10,000 feet of elevation between them (each chute bootpacked btw). Only a handful of skiers have completed every line in a single day. And none of them filmed it—until now.

A few weeks ago, we looked around the office, realized we were surrounded by incredible athletes and interesting people, and thought, “why don’t we have a podcast?” So, we made one (find it on Spotify, Apple, and YouTube!)

Every other week we’ll be chuting the shit with skiers, bikers, hikers, makers, and doers. This week, BC Athlete and pro snowboarder
Nils Mindnich interviews Gearhead Alex Quitiquit (mentioned above 👆). They talk favorite gear, Taming the Wolverine, a first ascent, and more!

Our product designers and engineers have done it again. Built with input from our Gearheads, the Backcountry Runoff Rain Collection (jacket & parka) does the three things we ask of our rain shells. It keeps us dry (water-resistant Pertex membrane, DWR-treated, and fully sealed seams). It keeps us from overheating with tons of breathability and added ventilation in the front. And it folds down into its own pocket, so it stays out of the way when it’s not actively raining.

Come spring, all this snow is going to turn to rushing rivers (at least in the west). It’s going to be a great year for river trips...which reminds us. It’s permit season! If you haven’t snagged permits yet, there’s still time, but you better start paddling. This isn’t our first river rodeo—see how we secure permits and what we’re floating on below.

Already have your permits? Nice!
Here are a few tips from us (like what to bring along and what to leave on shore) if you’re a first timer.

With spring right around the corner, our Gearheads are looking to fill their closets with the gear that will help them get after it as the snow melts.
