How One Community Organizer Found Success Running L.A.’s Most Radical Artspace
Ever since she can remember, Faye Orlove always loved art. One of earliest memories, Orlove can recall bringing paper and pencils to synagogue at eight years old, drawing girls, hairstyles, and clothes for hours during High Holy Days. In 2015, Orlove founded Junior High, a nonprofit artspace and publisher based in Los Angeles. Creating the kind of space she had always wished to see in the world, Junior High has served as an events space and artistic breeding ground prioritizing the safety and expression of marginalized voices, specifically for queer, trans, and gender-nonconforming persons. Learn more about how Orlove and Junior High are disrupting the art and publishing world with inclusivity and radical empathy. Read More
