On June 6, 2022 Family Tree University will re-launch to a new e-learning platform.

This move will bring you a better learning experience, with simplified navigation of courses, improved discussion boards, and the ability to participate/join in a FTU Community Group for sharing discoveries and asking questions.

What does this mean to you?

In many respects, the new e-learning platform is the same as the old one, with some new features.

If you have taken a course in the past 12 months you will continue to have access to the course which includes videos and PDFs of the lessons.

We do recommend that if you have taken a course in the past 12 months that, if possible, you finish that course and download all course materials by 04 June 2022.

For those who were enrolled in a course that ended over 12 months ago, there is a “place holder” in your university account dashboard so that there will be a record of all courses that have been taken.

How Family Tree University Courses Work

Learn about the best research techniques and resources from the comfort of your computer! Our online courses are easily accessible, requiring just a web browser to enter. Each course is made up of four or more learning modules that combine written lessons with multimedia elements, such as videos and slideshows. Self-directed quizzes and exercises will help you apply your knowledge, and you'll have access to discussion boards where you can ask your instructor questions.

All of a course’s lessons are available on the course’s start date, meaning you can work through materials at your own pace.

What You’ll Get When You Enroll:

• Easy-to-digest, expert-created lessons that combine written text, images, videos and slideshows
• Downloadable handouts and lesson materials
• Instructor access for the duration of the course’s four weeks, during which you can ask questions about what you've learned
• 12 months of read-only access after the discussion boards close
