You’ve been in the beauty and fashion industry for many years. What inspired you to start this journey?
I felt that there was a void in beauty—I couldn’t find a plant-based product in a non-plastic container that still had a luxury feel to it. I wanted to create a beauty brand where the product and packaging are treated as a whole, and plastic is eliminated from every element, reducing harm to both the consumer and the environment.
We are here to change the industry and empower consumers to make better choices when it comes to their beauty routine. Each of our products is intended to be multi-functional, and we do individual product drops instead of overly fragmented collections in order to minimize waste, lower resource consumption, and steer clear of the fast-beauty industry.
Why eucalyptus - how did you discover its biodegradable properties?
We source our glitter through Bioglitter, which is the best manufacturer we found that makes a plant-based alternative to traditional plastic glitter. Eucalyptus is incredible, not only for its functional benefits in the product, but also that the plant grows quickly and is adaptable to various environments, requiring less water consumption to cultivate. When we declare a product as sustainable we want that to be true all the way up to the top of the supply chain.
How do you want people to feel wearing SB glitter?
Above all we want people to feel themselves. Creative. Cool. Comfortable. And a little bit extra!
