| | | When the conditions outside are too unruly for your usual ride, indoor cycling is a great alternative. It can boost endurance, keep your muscles in shape, and put you in a great mood. But don’t just take it from us. These indoor training tips from Canyon SRAM’s Tiffany Cromwell, Omer Shapira, and Kasia Niewiadoma will have you making the transition from outside to inside in no time, whether you’re focused on staying fit or just riding to relax. “First and foremost, get yourself a good set up including a smart trainer and a subscription to Zwift…Fans or a flowing breeze is a must as it can get pretty hot during the workouts, a speaker with some good tunes playing, a nice view beyond the screen, and plenty of drinks. You want to create the best environment to make indoor training more pleasurable. A good chamois, pair of knicks, and a comfortable saddle is also important.” —Tiffany Cromwell “Set a small goal every day that motivates you, and decide before you get on the home trainer what you are going to do. Decide your distance, elevation, or what efforts you will do. That way you’ve set a goal and you’ll be more likely to achieve it. I’m using Zwift a lot during these weeks, and I always go through these steps before I start my ride. No one looks at you, so don’t be afraid to sweat a lot, breathe heavily, work on your weakness, and sing loud in between efforts or during your easy rides! Make sure to prepare your food and drinks beforehand and place them next to you if you plan to do a longer session. Even if you’re only two meters from the kitchen, I find it helps mentally and allows you to keep focused on your training.” —Omer Shapira “Don’t stress about time. It doesn’t really matter what time you wake up, or start your training session. Focus on being present with yourself. Try not to overthink the things you cannot control. It might cause you unnecessary anxiety and it’s not welcome in this fragile time. Listen to your body, and don’t force anything.” —Kasia Niewiadoma | | | | | Copyright 2021 - GIRO SPORT DESIGN, Established 1985 | This email was sent by: Giro Sport Design 5550 Scotts Valley Dr. Scotts Valley, CA, 95060, USA | Update Profile | | |
