Happy Birthday, America! That's right freedom lovers, Uncle Sam turns 245 years young this weekend. As we the people observe our most cherished day of independence we have much to reflect on. It has been a tough 18 months for us all. We have endured challenges, loss, anger, confusion, and more. It has been a tough road, no doubt, but we always pull together as we did following the days of 9/11. Our flag remained visible as a symbol of strength to our nation and its people. Around the world American military personnel exhibit our best ideals representing our culture, beliefs and compassion. At home, our citizens rally to serve their neighbors, answering the needs where our government cannot. Our strength is born of adversity, love, faith and determination. We continue to be “an asylum to the virtuous and persecuted part of mankind, to whatever nation they belong”, as George Washington challenged us to be. So raise your glasses America, the sons and daughters of liberty are ready to party! We are not going anywhere, our voices will be heard for generations to come. Our pursuit of liberty will strengthen the world, and we accept that burden. We will pay the cost, and we will lead from the front - now and forever.
