Spring Turkey Season is here. Leverage these tips on your next outing to increase your chances of success.

TURKEY DECOY POSITIONING

Turkey decoys are a huge asset when used correctly. Position your decoys at a 45-degree angle from you on the opposite side of where you think the gobbler will come in from.

Remember, when a gobbler gets close, remain still and silent because he’s looking for another turkey. Once his focus is on the decoys, he’ll commit to coming in and offer a clear shot.

PINPOINT TURKEYS ON THE ROOST

When roosting a gobbler in the evening, pinpoint the exact tree the gobbler is roosted in. Once you’ve identified where he’ll roost, consider the following for the morning hunt:

· You’ll be setting up in the dark, look for the easiest path to your set up.

· Identify which way the bird will likely fly down to and rule out which direction he won't likely go.

· Look for the exact tree or cover you want to set up under.
