A Note From Our Founders Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Celebrated each year during the month of May, AAPI heritage month recognizes the achievements, contributions, and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, and culture of the United States. As a Chinese-American family-owned business that’s now been in business for over a decade, we honestly have been a little reserved about sharing our ethnic background and cultural heritage. In some ways we didn't feel comfortable speaking about our heritage until we felt like our business was at a certain level of success. But as we’ve grown and become more confident with who we are, we feel like one of the best things we can do now is use our business as a platform to support other AAPI-owned brands, nonprofit organizations, artists/creatives, and more members of our Asian community. With that said, for those that live in the LA area, we invite you to join us this Saturday, May 7th at the Kibō Nobori Children’s Day Festival taking place at the Terasaki Budokan community center in Little Tokyo. Artist Faith-Ann Kiwa Young is debuting a beautiful fabric installation and we’re partnering with co-mrkt, a community that amplifies emerging AAPI creators in the LA area. Stop by to support AAPI artists and small businesses - plus we’ll be raffling off Lo & Sons bags to fundraise for the Terasaki Budokan. You can RSVP here - it’s free! We’d love to learn more about other ways to get involved in our communities across the country and we encourage you to reach out to us! Regards, Helen, Jan, and Derek |
