Happy Mother’s Day! As a Mom-Founded company, this day is particularly special to us as you can imagine. While our mom Helen has in recent years shifted her focus on becoming the best grandma ever, over a decade ago she fearlessly led at the age of 65 our journey of starting a business when we had no industry experience. Now almost 12 yrs later, we’ve become pioneers in our industry and we are really proud to have helped our mom build a business. For most of our childhood, we saw how our mom sacrificed her career for our dad and the family, so it’s been extremely rewarding to help our mom make her own legacy! Not many people know that our mom, before she had kids, had earned her Ph.D and was on track to work in government policy. But despite her career ambitions, she gave it all up to be a mom and to follow our father’s career as we moved around the world for his job. Growing up, each time we had to move she found jobs in different fields and organizations, and we remember it being very difficult for her. Giving up your career can oftentimes be a big loss in your core identity. But seeing her life journey and who she’s become, it also taught us that success in life is not a linear journey. In some ways, that also represents how we approached growing our company. We didn’t start off with a business plan, but it didn’t mean he had no direction. We were always working towards something, and we needed to be flexible and prepared for anything. And despite all of our mother’s amazing characteristics and wonderful personality, her greatest attribute is that she’s brave enough to always confront what life throws at you. She’s had to adapt and reinvent herself at every stage in her life, both professionally and personally. And so while working with family has been challenge, it's also been one of the most fulfilling experiences in our lives. We wouldn’t want to have it any other way! So with that said, we just wanted to thank you mom for everything you’ve done for us, and all your supreme patience and perseverance. You’re an inspiration not just to us, but to the world!
