The First 45 Days

It's an exciting thing to welcome home a beautiful piece of living greenery. But are you familiar with what it takes to keep your plant alive? Here are the most important things to getting things started off right.

Placement - each plant is unique, with different light needs depending on the environment they originate from. Most indoor plant varieties originate from tropical habitats, meaning bright light and warm, humid temperatures. Pick the spot that most resembles this climate.
Watering - "When in doubt, let it drought!" Overwatering can do more damage than under watering. Start with smaller amounts in the beginning and observe how long it takes your plant to dry out.
Time to Adjust - from years of experimenting, we've observed that it takes about 45 days for a living plant to adjust to its new home. On the way there, it may change colors, loose leaves, look sick and on the verge of death. But guess what? They bounce back! They settle in to the rhythm of the light, warmth and get back to their business of living and growing.
