Summer Tips Summer is (officially) just two days away, so take note of these simple tips and tricks to keep your greens glowing all season long! - Avoid sunburn. Some plants that are perfectly happy in their usual spot may not be as happy this time of year. Adjust positioning and placement as needed to avoid any harsh direct sunlight from the summer sun.
- Fertilize! If you didn't begin fertilizing in the spring, now is the time. Fertilize 1-2 times per month using a gentle solution for potted plants, such as Boost Vitaminé.
- Keep 'em hydrated. Like us, plants are often thirstier in the summer, so adjust your watering routine as needed. Warmer temperatures, longer daylight, and increased growth may all contribute to your plant needing either more water or more frequent watering each week.
- Beware of air conditioning. Many plants thrive with a decent amount of humidity and air conditioning may dry things out at home. As a precaution, make sure your plant is not in the direct path of any air vents.
- Take them outside. An optional treat for your plants, gradually bring them outside to soak in more light. Avoid direct sunlight, and make sure temperatures stay consistently about 65 degrees.
