Welcome Home When summer travels come to an end and you make your way home, you may find yourself experiencing some anxiety in regard to your plants. How have they done in your absence? Did they get enough water, air flow, light? Rest assured that your plants are flexible and forgiving, and probably fared just fine. All the same, this is a great time for a little extra TLC to share with them that post-vacation glow you're already sporting. Here is a simple checklist to get started: Clean things up. There might be a yellow or dry leaf or two on your plant. Remove it without fear! Check for pests. Inspect your plant thoroughly, and consider misting it and wiping it down. Don't forget to look at the undersides of the leaves. Gauge the watering situation. Before giving them a good drink, probe the soil (or refer to your moisture meter if you have one). If your plant is extremely dry, consider bottom watering. Rotate for even light access. If it's been a while, give your plant a turn. Wait and see. Is your plant looking sad? Give it time. Patience is the key to plant care success. Head here for more detailed instructions on checking in with your plants post-vacation. And welcome home! |
