Weekend Plant Check Up

Myth Busting

Ready to play a game of true or false? When it comes to water temperature, our Plant Doctors have been working on some myth busting:

Fact or fiction: Watering with hot water promotes new growth.

Fiction. Actually, watering with hot water may shock your plant and damage its roots.

Fact or fiction: If your plant looks hot, give it a splash of water to cool it down.

Don't do it! Avoid watering plants when they're basking in the sun, as this may also shock their system.

The cold, hard facts?

Generally speaking, most indoor plants prefer water at room temperature -- to be exact, around 68 degrees is ideal. Anything too hot or too cold may shock their system and even damage their roots.

Exclusive for Léon & George customers, our Plant Doctors are available 24/7 for any questions about keeping your plants happy and healthy! Log in to your account to contact them at any time.
