Moss coverings on plants generally don't require any maintenance, but we recommend fluffing yours on occasion for optimal plant health.

Fluffing the moss allows for better soil aeration (aka air flow to your plant's roots), and let's be honest -- it just looks nice! 

Using your fingers, rub pieces of moss together to create space and break up any clumps. Lift a few areas of the moss to check the soil beneath. If you see any mold-like growth, worry not! Most fungi is beneficial for plants, yet still you may remove it to allow for better soil aeration.
