Today we're bringing you our beautiful Halo Hat pattern, which combines 2 of our favorite Rowan yarns with one of our signature pom poms to help get you through the winter with style! | | Our Halo Hat pairs Rowan's Felted Tweed and Kidsilk Haze to create a lush, hazy fabric with a dreamy, "halo" effect.
As the name implies, Felted Tweed is beautifully tweedy, gently felted, DK weight blend of 50% Merino wool, 25% alpaca and 25% Viscose. It's a go-to choice for colorwork and stranded knitting that also performs fabulously when held together with a second yarn, as we've done here, to deliver the structure and warmth knitters expect from wool.
Kidsilk Haze is a laceweight wonder! This blissful blend of 70% kid mohair and 30% silk is light and ethereal -- like knitting with a cloud! On its own, it will create beautifully delicate laceweight accessories but its real magic is revealed when it's carried alongside other yarns! It adds delightful dimension, fluffiness, extra softness and just a little bit of sheen, thanks to its silk content.
Now that you're acquainted with these two yarns, the only question remaining is will you knit your Halo Hat with two matching colorways or will you pick two complementary colors for a soft, marled effect? Your options are endless!
