Wigglin' Bandana Cowl in Loop Tendril!

Today we're spotlighting a fun slip stitch project knit in our extra soft Loop Tendril - the Wiggling' Bandana!

This pattern was designed by Susan Ashcroft, AKA Stitchnerd on Ravelry, and she expressly creates simple and relaxing knits with a high visual impact. True to her credo, this bandana-style cowl builds its stripey color motif with slipped stitch mosaic knitting instead of traditional colorwork - you won't believe how easy it is to knit!

To knit this cowl, we used our very own Loop Tendril, a luscious, DK-weight blend of superwash merino and silk that's irresistibly squishably in the skein and buttery soft against your skin! 

Tendril is such a special yarn. Merino makes it plushly soft, while the silk content lends incredible shine, drape, and strength. The silk also absorbs the dye beautifully, taking our house-dyed tonal palette to a vibrant new level! 

If you're new to mosaic knitting, you're in for a treat! 

Mosaic knitting is beginner-friendly colorwork. Instead of the yarn juggling and tricky float wrangling associated with traditional Fair Isle colorwork knitting, mosaic knitting means using just one yarn at a time and using slipped stitches to change colors. As a result, this cowl's stripe motif is surprisingly simple and rhythmic! 

This cowl is knit flat, then seamed at the neck to create its comfortably wearable, biased shape.

Bandana-style cowls strike a uniquely comfortable and practical balance. They slip easily over your head to warm your neck and that little triangle of decollete that the top of your jacket never seems to cover - all while staying put throughout the day.  

To knit your own Wigglin' Bandana cowl, you'll need:

• 2 skeins of Loop Tendril (we used Denim + Admiral)
• US 7 24" circular needle
• Wigglin' Bandana pattern
