We've been using our worsted-weight Loop Flora yarn to knit up a fun new On the Map baby blanket, a beginner-friendly design from Fifty Four Ten Studios.

This blanket is a thoughtful gift idea that's great for keeping wee ones cozy in strollers and car seats and offers lots of soft, squishy texture for when they're on the floor enjoying tummy time!

Loop Flora is the all-purpose, worsted-weight yarn of our dreams! It's an impossibly soft and springy 100% superwash merino that's smoothly plied to deliver fantastic stitch definition for squeezably plush fabrics.

Like all Loop yarns, Flora is hand-dyed in-house in over 20 tonal shades. Each shade is a watercolor wash of color full of depth and movement.

And because it's a superwash yarn, your Flora will be extra easy to care for. Just pop your Flora knits into a cold wash cycle, then lay flat to dry - making this yarn ideal for baby knits!

The On the Map is such a calming knit! As with most of Fifty Four Ten Studio's designs, you can knit this blanket if you're a newbie comfortable with casting on, the knit and purl stitch, and casting off!

We love how this blanket's smooth field of stockinette stitch is punctuated by dashes of garter stitch and framed in a border of pebbly seed stitch. Each element culminates in an elegantly timeless motif suitable for babies and grownups alike!

This blanket pattern includes 6 size options spanning from baby to an XXL adult bed size (finished measurements for each size can be found on the pattern page).

We made the Small size for a 30" x 34" blanket.
