Discover a remarkable American wool! Yes, it's June...but it's never too early to start dreaming about your next woolly, cold weather knit! Today we're bringing you an utterly inspirational new yarn duo from Harrisville Designs: Nightshades and Daylights! These incredible yarns artfully explore the creative possibilities of color against a yin and yang backdrop of light and dark. They come to us from a bona fide US historic landmark, where woolen yarn has been spun in the water powered, brick mill town of Harrisville, New Hampshire, since 1794. Harrisville Designs spent nearly two years searching for the ideal fiber to serve as the basis for this unique, light versus dark yarn concept. The result is uniquely all-American, using Cormo grown in Montana, scoured in Texas, dyed in Philadelphia, and spun in New Hampshire! | | Nightshades consist of rich, shaded hues over a moody, black yarn base and marbled with flecks of colorful, tweedy pops. Daylights are the brighter inverse of Nightshades, pairing a natural colored yarn base with the subtlest nuance of color. Both yarn bases are springy, 3-ply, woolen-spun American Cormo and wool. Though both yarns feel light in the skein, they're equally ideal for a heavy-wear garment or a light accessory. They can be used separately or in tandem to create a project with a multi-dimensioned wash of polished color! We're currently stocking Nightshades + Daylights at Loop in Center City and in our online shop.
