Hello there,
Our flights got cancelled, so we’re suddenly free as a bird in a big city for a long weekend. How strange. How wonderful. How marvelously unscheduled.
Here’s what we’re considering doing, which you could consider, too. Send us more ideas, questions, concerns, musings, and any unattended bottles of seltzer.
Saturday:
- Pulling on the Leo pullover. It’s silky, light, buttery, and sold out before we could grab it last spring. We’re glad it’s back, since it’s perfect for a long walk around our neighborhood to check which trees are starting to lose their leaves.
- Thinking about this oak tree that legally owns itself.
- Buying every in-season tomato we can find, before the sense of August fully bleeds from the air. Drizzling all of them with just a tiny bit of olive oil and a pinch of flaky salt.
Sunday:
- Muddling a few mint leaves in the bottom of a glass before adding cold brew, a little milk, and lots of ice. Doing this twice, actually, because it’s so good.
- Reorganizing our closet by color or sleeve length or star-sign, because we’re over-caffeinated now. This article has some ideas you could play with.
- Then taking this site and filtering by “Adirondack'' or “Bookstore” or “Castle,” perusing the amazingly detailed listings until we find the perfect old house to mentally decorate.
- Finding this shingled farm in New Hampshire and starting to pack up the recently organized closet in order to move there.
Monday:
- Pairing the Orchard skirt with a tank top and slides, finding a really sunny coffee shop, and then texting everyone we know within a two-mile radius to come by and say hi.
- And while we’re waiting for everyone or no one to appear, reading this or this or this.
- Here is a picture of us on Monday, actually, by the talented Maybell Eequay.
See you there,
The M.M. Team
