CAN YOU TELL US THE STORY BEHIND OUEST PARIS?

I created Ouest Paris after ten years as a designer, mainly at Ami. I wanted to draw on my family roots, south-west France and the Basque coast, and to have fun with West Coast denims, the classic clichés of California and the Western film.

HOW DO YOU CREATE YOUR COLLECTIONS?

I like to start with a story, bringing together several different worlds. For winter 2022, the first collection, we needed to lay the foundations of our wardrobe. Lots of denim, workwear inspired by the seventies, as well as more technical fabrics reminiscent of surfing - silver Tyvek surfboard covers, which we used to make bucket hats and windbreakers, and more Parisian-style, almost bourgeois, pieces - pastel mohairs, lodens.

I can take inspiration from anything! It could be a book, a TV series, a boy at a party, a look I've seen on Instagram.

I'm not sure! Either the very LA-inspired Y2K denim trucker cap that I wear every day without fail, the silver bucket hat, or the mohair beanie, for a slightly more surfy style.
