Sock It to Me Community Update!

What have we been up to?

Sock It to Me is a proud supporter of the community! This Giving Tuesday we're celebrating and sharing our efforts in hopes to inspire YOU to support these organizations or to find your own local organization that needs your help!

One of our commitments this year was to donate 35,000+ pairs of socks and underwear... AND WE DID IT! To date we've donated 39,000 pairs to our 2022 partner organizations and a few others that needed our help!

While donating products is a big help, donating our time is just as important! Check out how our Sock It to Me team has helped our partnering organizations!

From volunteering to sort and restock inventory on-site at Transition Projects to making in-kind donations and collecting a full bin of donation items on their wishlist, we weren't done yet! This holiday season, the Sock It to Me team set out to gather toe warmers for Transition Projects' cold weather support services, and we collected 545 pairs of toe warmers!! We stuffed them in our favorite socks and hung them on a specially-made tree for them to have at their main office this holiday season.

Donation Locations!

Not familiar with Transition Projects? They help transition people from homelessness into housing in Portland, Oregon. The agency offers programs, resources, and tools to individuals through access to social services including caseworkers, healthcare, mentorship, and housing.

This past September, the Sock It to Me team volunteered in the stock room at Rose Haven sorting through donations. We also helped them reset their Boutique store and refilled sales fixtures with donation items. Along with this volunteer opportunity and an in-kind product donation of our own products, we also held an internal donation drive collecting much needed school supplies for the new year.

Rose Haven is the only day shelter and community center specifically serving women, children, and gender-diverse people in Portland. As night shelters around our community are at capacity, the Rose Haven low-barrier, drop-in model bridges gaps in services and provides a much-needed resource.
