Swim United pop up pools are helping children learn to swim ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ Last week we launched our programme to teach 2,000 children to swim by their summer holidays this year. In partnership with our Olympic athletes, Active Black Country, Aspire and the Black Swimming Association we are supporting 8 schools north of Birmingham to have a pop-up pool on their premises, to teach their children more effectively and more easily.
At the school pictured, only 9 of their 90 children left last year able to swim and this year all 90 children should leave able to swim.
We'll keep you updated on progress as we work to get more children able to swim.
Currently 1 in 3 children leave school unable to swim.
