Huddled together with two strangers – stranded travelers he’d picked up – Jay Withey had been running the engine of his truck all night to keep them from dying of exposure.

But as the blizzard raged around them, his fuel was getting perilously low.

And that’s when he broke the law Christmas Eve morning outside Buffalo, NY–

He trudged through the blizzard and – believing it would have heat and food – busted a window and broke into an elementary school he knew was in the area.

It did.

Despite white out conditions and deadly, bone-chilling cold – he went back out again and again, until, along with the two others in his vehicle, he’d rescued a total of 24 stranded motorists.

He left an apology note for the B&E explaining the situation and signed it: “Merry Christmas, Jay.”

It’s a heartwarming true story of heroism and survival.

Dozens of others died in that blizzard, many stuck in their cars with no respite from the cold.

Be prepared to help yourself and others survive this winter by stocking these cold weather emergency supplies in your car.
