Smell The Roses

When the team at VIOLET LAB began hearing about the new fragrance brand, Liis, the more they knew they needed to get it on THE SHELVES, stat. After intros, what the LAB came to love is the brand’s signature devotion to minimalism: sustainably-sourced ingredients, uncomplicated scent profiles, architectural glass bottles, and recyclable and compostable packaging. Already convinced this was made for VIOLET GREY, samples were requested for immediate spritzing. 

Rose Struck hit our skin like a cool morning breeze, refreshing and soft with a hint of sweetness. Featuring top notes of cassis and tangerine, a heart of matcha tea, and a base of damask rose and rose centifolia, this fragrance evokes walking into a dew-soaked rose garden, starting off juicy and bright and drying down to an earthy floral that wrapped around us like a second skin. It was undeniable–this was a product destined for approval from our Committee.

Not only is Rose Struck a gently enveloping sensual experience, but STAFFERS and Committee Members alike were also impressed with the perfume bottle itself. Sleek and sophisticated and seemingly imbuing light,the feel of this inspired vessel in our hands was seductive and somehow soothing. Bonus points were given for the fact that you can pick it up by the ceramics-inspired cap (co-founder Leslie Hendin is a third-generation potter) and it won’t fall and shatter…genius. With everyone loving the unique take on rose (and unable to take their eyes off its ethereal bottle), Liis’s Rose Struck is now VIOLET CODE APPROVED and has earned a place on THE SHELVES.
