The BARE 1000 World Record attempt begins

We have partnered with ultra-endurance barefoot athlete and best selling author Tony Riddle to take on a world record attempt, to run the full length of the South West Coast path. The current record stands at 10 days, 8 hours, and 24 minutes.

To make the attempt even more special, Tony will be running in prototype versions of bespoke footwear by Vivobarefoot made through VIVOBIOME: a radical scan-to-print vision for circular footwear, launching in Spring 2023.

Designed to shine a light on how human feet are capable of achieving extraordinary feats.

As part of the attempt, Tony is fundraising for three important initiatives linked to climate change and climate justice.

THE ROUTE TO A WORLD RECORD

The South West Coast Path is Britain’s longest and most challenging national trail crossing four counties and traversing over 115,000ft of ascents and descents.

The equivalent of scaling Mt Everest four times.

Tony set off from Minehead in Somerset and is finishing at South Haven Point, Dorset on Saturday 24th September.

He would love to invite you to run alongside him, or visit him along the route as he runs.

Day 01 (15^th Sep) – Minehead to Braunton (100km)

Day 02 (16^th Sep) – Braunton to Bude (96.5km)

Day 03 (17^th Sep) – Bude to Newquay (107km)

Day 04 (18^th Sep) – Newquay to Sennen Cove (103km)

Day 05 (19^th Sep) – Sennen Cove To Coverack (90km)

Day 06 (20^th Sep) – Coverack to Par (98km)

Day 07 (21^st Sep) – Par to Bigbury-On-Sea (108km)

Day 08 (22^nd Sep) – Bigbury-On-Sea to Babbacombe (90km)

Day 09 (23^rd Sep) – Babbacombe to Abbotsbury (108km)
