I recently had to dig through some old photos for a family event. I swam through pictures dating from the 1970s through to the 2000s. Apart from realising how much my own face has melted with age, I was struck by how… well… awful they were, especially when compared with today’s images. I’m not speaking about the memories captured within, those moments seem ever more precious with time; I’m talking about the bad lighting, colour inaccuracy, lack of depth and absence of any sense of composition. There is no doubting the charm of an old Instamatic photo, but you must admit that a lot of them were usually binned.   

The advancement of imaging technology has put an unimaginable array of tools at the disposal of even the least experienced novice. It still takes lifelong commitment to create truly great work. That being said, a modern camera can produce serendipitous images for any enthusiast. Our goal at Wex is to help photographers and filmmakers get the perfect shot anytime and every time.
