Plus, new Making Magazine! Temperatures are starting to climb and year-round knitters know what that means -- it's time to start knitting with yarns that will keep us cool when the weather gets hot! While we love cozy wools as much as you do, there's nothing better than soft cottons and lightweight linen during the sultry days of spring and summer. If you're ready to lighten up your knitting, keep reading! We've just added a great new spring/summer yarn to the Loop lineup: Sandnes Garn Line and we think it's like all the best parts of summer wound up in a ball! | | Sandnes Garn Line (pronounced LEE-NEH) is the sister yarn to Duo, and is crafted in Norway's oldest yarn mill, located near the Norwegian coastal town of Sandnes. Line is a DK weight blend of linen, cotton + viscose that knits up into a supremely soft and lightweight fabric. It combines the effortless drape and luster of linen with the silky softness of cotton, while the viscose delivers lightness and shape. And unlike some cotton or linen yarns, Line is also easy on the hands when you're knitting. You'll love Line's color palette! Each shade is slightly heathered with a subtle sheen, making it ideal for breezy summer tops and gauzy shawls. It's also a lovely alternative for those who live in warmer climates or who are allergic to wool. We're currently stocking Line in all of our shops -- Loop, Loop West and online! | | Some knitters are reluctant to knit in the summer because, let's face it, warm weather + a lap full of wool can be pretty uncomfortable. That's definitely not the case with lightweight Line! We went on a quest to find the perfect summer sweater and we found it in Anker's Summer Shirt, a beautifully yolked, short sleeve sweater from Petite Knit. This sweater is made for pairing with Line! It's knit top-down and worked seamlessly in the round and is written to accommodate 7 bust sizes. | | To knit your own Anker's Summer Shirt, you'll need: | | What else can you do with Line? How about a few more curated designs! Clockwise from top left: - Ladyfingers (Ravelry) -- easy colorwork with 10-15 balls of Line
- Solstice Tee (Ravelry / Designer page) -- charming tee with lace details uses 6-15 balls of Line
