We just finished our own Musselburgh in Sprig and Posy and it's an absolute delight!

Loop Sprig is our very own fingering weight superwash Merino. It's a fabulous all-purpose yarn for fine-gauge knits with a next-to-skin softness and crisp stitch definition.

Loop Posy is our laceweight kid mohair and silk blend that's a beautiful choice for delicately lacey shawls and sweaters and our go-to carry-along yarn for elegantly haloed companion knits!

Musselburgh, the brainchild of designer Ysolda Teague, is a double-layered beanie with 4-point crown shaping. It begins with a center-out cast-on and increases for the first crown; transitions to a meditative tube of stockinette and finishes with increases that mirror the initial shaping with decreases.

Then the magic happens: you’ll slip one end of the tube into the other to create your double-layered hat!

And while we chose to knit our Musselburgh in Sprig and Posy because we love the fluffy halo and lightweight fluidity of these two yarns held together, Ysolda created this hat to be "swatchless" – it can be worked up in 9 different yarn gauges! You simply cast on with your preferred yarn and needles, count your stitches and the pattern tells you where to go from there. And you can choose from six sizes, ranging from baby to adult XL!

Musselburgh is fully reversible so it’s a fun canvas for getting creative with color! Add stripes, make a fade, or work each half in a different color!
