Spring is in the air, and Sparrow has arrived! This lovely yarn for warmer weather knits comes to us from Quince + Co.; we are so excited to cast on!

Sparrow is a sport-weight 100% linen yarn. Linen knits up into garments and accessories that are cool and light, with a uniquely breathable nature that makes for comfortable wear when the temperatures climb.

Sparrow is spun in Italy from organic linen grown in Belgium. It's sublimely dyed in a nature-inspired, color-washed palette, perfect for spring and summer knits!

If you're a linen first-timer, it's worth noting that linen yarn behaves a bit differently than traditional wool yarn. Linen lacks wool's familiar elasticity and has a crisper hand. However, once linen fabrics are washed, they magically transform into soft, elegant fabrics that wear like a dream!

We can happily report that Sparrow is softer than the average linen yarn right out of the skein. It also works up into a fabric that becomes buttery soft with a fluid drape after it's washed - and it gets softer and more supple the more often it's worn!

Helpful tip: Linen yarns can be a bit slippery to knit with. After your skein of Sparrow is wound, be sure to work from the outside of your center pull cake. We also recommend using wood needles for better "grip" as you knit.

This short-sleeved tee is worked from the top down with a round yoke and A-line body shaping. It can be striped as shown with 3 colors or sans stripes; it's your choice!

You'll need:

6-12 total skeins of Sparrow for a solid-colored tee OR 2-4 skeins in each of 3 colors for a striped tee (shown here in Truffle, Blue Spruce + Pigeon)
