Hamstrings run from hip to knee, which means when they’re excessively tight, you’re definitely out of alignment.

TRY THIS STRETCH:

Grab a dish towel. Sit upright on the ground with a straight back and legs out in front of you. Loop the towel around your foot and hold on both ends. Slowly pull on the towel, lifting your leg up to feel the stretch.

Gluteus maximus and the lesser-known piriformis muscles are key connections between your lower back and legs.

TRY THIS STRETCH:

Lie flat on your back with both knees bent so that both your feet and lower back are in flat contact with the floor.

Working one leg at a time, pull your knee in toward your chest and hold in place with both hands for 5-10 seconds.

Tight hip flexors can cause anterior (front) pelvic tilt and

weakened glutes.

TRY THIS STRETCH:

Take a knee with one leg out in front of you at a 90-degree angle. Place both hands on the front knee.  

Lean forward into the hip flexor on your grounded leg, making sure to squeeze your glutes.
