Warm feet are happy feet!
ONE SOCK IN FIBRE CO. AMBLE
It looks like there's more snow in the forecast -- are you ready to hunker down and knit? Now's a great time to prep for how you're going to spend your next snow day!

If you've been thinking about taking the leap into sock knitting, we've got great news! We're hosting an exciting new trunk show spotlighting Amble from The Fibre Co. and it's all about helping knitters master sock knitting techniques used in the very beginner friendly One Sock pattern from designer Kate Atherley.

The trunk show and One Sock samples will be at both Loop and Loop West! Read on for more details!
Once you've worn a pair or hand knit socks, you'll instantly understand why they're superior to average, everyday store-bought socks. They can be easily custom sized to fit the length and width of your feet for maximum comfort. Hand knit wool socks also provide unparalleled warmth and do a far better job of regulating body heat and wicking away moisture than ordinary socks! Socks knit in superwash wool (like Amble!) don't require fussy care. Just toss them in the wash on cold and let them dry flat!
From a knitting standpoint, socks are a fabulous way to add new skills to your arsenal of knitting techniques. While the thought of knitting with thin yarn on tiny needles can be daunting, have no fear! One Sock will demystify the process by guiding you through each step and giving you the confidence to enjoy the process. First time sock knitters are always fascinated by the components of basic sock construction -- you'll never take socks for granted again!

And socks can't be beat in terms of project portability. Going on a road trip or to an appointment and expecting down time in a waiting room? Tuck your sock project in your bag! They're one of the most portable knitting projects and take up almost no space when you're on the go!
Now let's talk about Amble. This powerhouse fingering weight blend of 70% Merino wool, 20% alpaca and 10% Nylon knits into a supremely lightweight yet warm fabric. There's also a lot more to this yarn than meets the eye!

Care-wise, Amble's not just superwash, it's "Easy-Wash," a trademarked process developed by The Fibre Co. that refers to the chlorine-free and AOX-free process used to make Amble's wool and alpaca fibers machine washable without shrinking. In short, the Easy-Wash method is hands down the most environmentally-conscious choice for producing machine washable wool.

The Nylon in Amble is also recycled. Nylon fiber is not easily biodegradable but it provides the durability and strength important for long-wearing socks. The recycled nylon used in Amble comes from leftover industrial waste of processing Nylon, thereby diverting waste from landfills and using fewer production resources like water and fossil fuels than virgin Nylon.

And the colors? SWOON! All of Amble's richly saturated, nature-inspired hues are inspired by the lush scenery surrounding the English Lake District in the UK, The Fibre Co.'s home base.
The One Sock pattern comes with the One Sock Guidebook, a resource that covers an expansive range of sizes – from infant all the way up to adult size 11 – plus a variety of circumference sizes and options for customization to ensure your socks fit perfectly.

To make One Sock you'll need:
MORE AMBLE SOCKS
MIND GARDEN SOCKS

For more experienced sock knitters, Amble also works beautifully with Mind Garden's beautiful cabled lace cuffs and unique heel flap construction!

This pattern includes video links to help you master the German twisted cast-on and cabling without a cable needle, as well as videos for tips to avoiding ladders in magic loop, closing the heel gap in cuff down socks, as well as a unique method for "earless" Kitchener stitching!
HEDERA SOCKS

For confident and advanced sock knitters, Hedera is a toe-up design, that begins with a special cast-on for the toe cap and ends with the ribbing around the ankle.

This design also features a short row heel instead of a typical heel flap. Its beautifully ornate lace pattern beautifully shows off the stitch definition of Amble!

LOOP WEST PARKING

Loop West friends, West Chester Pike has recently been widened and has left the front parking lot more narrow and challenging to navigate. So, we recommend that you head straight for the back parking lot!

- If you're heading west on West Chester Pike, turn right at the light onto 252/Newtown Square Road and then take your first left. Or, you can turn into our front parking lot as usual and head down the cut-through right before the pizza shop.

- If you're heading east on West Chester Pike turn left at the light onto Clyde Lane and take your first right.

Once you've parked, you can enter the shop via the walkway shown on the map as a dotted line. For all the details on visiting Loop West, click here. See you soon!
