THE VEST OF TIMES!

It's a great time to be a fan of wooly knit vests because they are all the rage right now! These lightweight core warmers provide a fashionable layer to protect from the cold without any bulk!

What's got us daydreaming about vests? We just received a restock of Scout, a fabulous, 100% wool yarn from Kelbourne Woolens! And while it's an incredible choice for sweaters, shawls, scarves, and hats, we couldn't help but think how this yarn's softness and drape would be a perfect complement to enduringly classic vests too!

Without a doubt, Scout is enjoyable knitting! It's a classic wool yarn that glides through your fingers smoothly and works up into soft fabrics with satisfying stitch definition. And since it's a DK weight yarn that falls between a fine fingering weight and a heavier worsted weight, it creates a wonderful fabric that knits up relatively quickly without feeling too heavy.

SILLE VEST

The Sille Slipover is a brand new pattern from Petiteknit that will maximize Scout's superb stitch definition with its simple knit/purl texturing! Wear this vest over a plain, long-sleeved tee or turtleneck as a lovely wardrobe statement piece!

Please note that while the pattern calls for 2 fingering weight yarns held together, you will be using a single strand of Scout for this project.

To knit this vest, you'll need:

XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL)
3 (3) 3 (3-4) 3-4 (4) 4 (4) skeins of Scout
US 4 + US 6 32" circular needles
US 4 + US 6 16" circular needles

VEST NO. 7

Vest No.7 is a classic, cardigan-style vest from My Favorite Things Knitwear that will encourage Scout's incredibly heathered colorways to take center stage. HAZEL NECK

PetiteKnit's Hazel Neck is not technically a vest, but it's a layer you'll want to add to your wardrobe! This fresh take on the classic dickey is open at the sides and designed to lay flat against your neck and chest for comfortable warmth under your outerwear. You know how the cold always seems to creep in through that tricky gap at the top of your coat? It doesn't stand a chance with this toasty little topper!
