Layering pieces are essential this time of year. Cue the versatile vest!

Vests have been making a comeback in a big way, and we understand why; there are so many cute options to keep us cozy!

Today, we're sharing 3 of our most popular vest patterns - each in a different weight to tailor to your yarn preferences!

SLEEVELESS

Sleeveless by Lone Kjeldsen is a beautifully versatile vest with a unisex design just right for popping over a long-sleeved tee or crisply collared Oxford shirt. We've knit our Sleeveless in Cricket from Kelbourne Woolens for a timelessly tweedy flair.

Sleeveless is knit from the bottom up in the round and features two rib variations and visible seaming to create a fun-to-knit texture. The neck and sleeves are picked up and work in stockinette for a nice rolled edge.

Because it's knit in fingering weight Cricket, Sleeveless delivers warmth without bulk, making it fuss-free to wear under jackets and sweater coats!

To knit your own Sleeveless vest, you'll need:

S, M, L, XL, XXL
2, 2, 2, 3, 3 skeins of Kelbourne Woolens Cricket
US 4 + 6 32" circular needles
Sleeveless pattern
Please note: the pattern calls for 2 yarns held together; we used Cricket all on its own!

STOCKHOLM SLIPOVER

We particularly love PetiteKnit's Stockholm Slipover and knit our sample companion style, using 1 strand of our Loop Sprig held together with 1 strand of Loop Posy for lightweight layering that's equal parts soft and fluffy! It also makes the knitting move along faster with the yarns held together!

Like all PetiteKnit patterns, this vest is an easy-wearing wardrobe staple with clean, classic lines and subtle detailing that creates a beautiful, flattering, tailored effect.

To knit your own Stockholm Slipover, you'll need:

2-3 skeins of Loop Sprig
1-2 skeins of Loop Posy
US 4 + US 7 16" circular needles
US 4 + US 7 32" circular needles

LOWKEY VEST

Elizabeth Smith's Low Key Vest is knit seamlessly from the bottom up in the round with a high/low split hem. While this vest is predominantly knit in stockinette stitch, it's punctuated with horizontal purl ridge rows that provide just the right amount of interest to give the stockinette plenty of texture.

Low Key's pattern is written for 9 size-inclusive measurements. It also comes with a few customizable options. Choose from 2 different lengths (cropped or tunic) and two neck styles (crew or cowl). Mix and match your options to create your ideal vest!

For our Low Key Vest sample, we opted to knit the cropped version with a cowl neck. Above is an example of the tunic length with a cowl neck.
