STORM SHAWL IN LINDEN

Beautiful shawls are always in season, and Loop staffer Kathy just finished Joji Locatelli's Storm Shawl using an ultra fluffy combination of Loop Linden + Rowan Kidsilk Haze Colour!

We love how this companion yarn combo knits up into a fabric with a soft color dimension. It beautifully complements the dramatic drop stitches and lively yarnover lace details!

Linden is our very own fingering weight blend of buttery merino, cashmere, and nylon. We dye it right here in our Philly dye studio in 26 tonal shades, including classic neutrals and a rainbow of lights and brights!

Linden's soft, round hand makes it incredibly pleasurable to knit with on its own, but if you want to gild the lily and make it extra luxe, carry along a strand of laceweight mohair to give it an angelic halo!

Kidsilk Haze Colour is a love letter to OG Rowan Kidsilk Haze fans! Boasting the same practically weightless blend of mohair and silk, this knitter's favorite now comes in a 50-gram skein in a palette of candy floss colorways with subtle tonal shifts that behave similarly to hand-dyed yarn.

When used alone or in combination with other yarns, KSH Colour energizes knitted fabrics with movement and depth, not to mention a cloud-like halo of extra softness!

The Storm Shawl is an easy-to-wear, crescent-shaped shawl with lots of fun details to keep you engaged!

Although Kathy opted to knit her shawl companion style by combining Linden with KSH Colour, Joji designed this shawl as a one-skein wonder meant to maximize a precious skein of fingering weight yarn. If you're not a fan of mohair, no worries! Just omit it!

Sections of drop stitch are alternated with squishy garter stitch to add a deconstructed visual interest while making your yarn go further - and it's worth noting that there are few things more satisfying than intentionally dropping stitches! Kathy also loved the shawl's picot cast-off, which delivers a beautifully tidy finish.
