BROKEN GARTER BLANKET IN AKARI

Remember the cozy Noro Ito Broken Garter Blankets we brought you last winter? We loved the pattern so much we've updated it using fantastic Noro Akari!

The Akari version of our classic (and super easy to knit!) blanket shows off two gorgeous spectrums of Noro color that are evocative of dazzling golden sunsets and cool ocean waters. We think you're going to love them!

Akari is a silky soft departure from the rustic Noro you might be accustomed to. This worsted weight yarn blends luscious silk and plush cotton with just a touch of wool, mohair, and viscose for structure, making for a cushy blanket that's not *too* warm!

Each massive, 200g / 524yd skein is spun with the traditional Noro striping pattern but Akari's stripes are gentle and primarily tonal, keeping within one color family. For our blankets, we chose 2 colorways that were close on the color wheel to get lots of beautiful tones but with a more uniform look.

Akari's drape is fantastic! This versatile throw will look stunning draped over the back of your sofa or folded across the foot of your bed. The cozy softness is perfect for cuddle-up closeness on movie night or to drape around your shoulders with morning coffee.

Noro Akari is available in all shops! Our finished blankets are approximately 44" x 60".

To make your own Broken Garter Blanket, you'll need:

US 8 40" circular needles

4 skeins of Noro Akari (2 skeins in each color)

Sunset version: 2 Tottori Dunes + 2 Takizawa.
Ocean version: 2 Hitachi Park + 2 Amur Adonis
